  • Why Safeguarding?

Creating spaces and communities that are wholesome, supportive, inclusive and healing is a central idea in the Christian worldview. We take this very seriously, and are adamant that our communities will not be places of harm. To do this we regularly train all of our leaders to a high standard, check the backgrounds of all with responsibility over vulnerable people, and link in to other networks.

    Concerns.

As such, we want to be transparent and open with questions and concerns. If you have anything you would like to talk about, you can approach any leader in PIONEER that you feel you trust. You can also contact our Safeguarding Lead (Parish Safeguarding Officer) Lisa, or if needs be, go to Tony who is employed by a group of churches on the Island to oversee, advise and train us all. Their contact details are below.

    Lisa Morris

    Safeguarding Lead

Lisa is the safeguarding lead for Pioneer Church. If you have any questions or conerns about our safeguarding, Lisa is the person to direct everything to. Lisa doesn't actually worship as part of our community, so is perfectly placed as an independent and expert person. Lisa's email is lisa.morris@sodorandman.im

  • Tony Connell

If you don't think you can contact either a PIONEER leader, or our safeguarding lead, Lisa, please feel free to address your concern or question to Tony. He is employed by all of the major denominations on the Isle of Man (Churches Alive in Man), meaning that he is able to speak independently into any situation. It is a groundbreaking role in the British Isles, and means he is not 'employed' solely by the organisation he is speaking to.

This form goes directly to him, but if you would prefer not to use it, his email is safeguarding@sodorandman.im
